Globe Worsted Huddersfield
Globe was established in 1887 as a worsted spinning mill. The site was developed in stages. The main mill is fireproof and has 33 bays over 5 storeys with a central engine house and rope race. it was build between 1887-88. The second mill, also fireproof, was slightly smaller with 15 bays over 5 storeys. This was built in 1889. Both mills are connected by a rather impressive overhead walkway.
The whole complex has now been sold and is due to be redeveloped.
